Cats may seem like little night ninjas, but can they really see in complete darkness? Not quite - but their night vision is pretty amazing!

A cat’s eyes are designed to capture even the tiniest bit of light. They have a special layer called the tapetum lucidum, which reflects light back through the retina, giving their vision a serious boost. This is why their eyes seem to glow in the dark!

But in true, pitch-black darkness? Even a cat needs at least a sliver of light to see. Instead, they rely on their incredible whiskers and sharp hearing to navigate their surroundings.

So while your Coonie might surprise you by zooming through the house at night with no problem, they aren’t actually seeing in total darkness - they're just really, really good at making the most of what little light there is! 😺✨
